VENEERS

IMPROVING YOUR SMILE

Porcelain veneers are made to cover the facial or front surface of the tooth. They are a thin shell of ceramic that is bonded directly to the front and top surfaces of the teeth. It is very similar to placing acrylic fingernails on top of natural nails.

Veneers are an ideal choice for improving your smile and are used to enhance the shape and color of teeth, as well as to close spaces between teeth.

They are also used to lengthen worn or shortened teeth when the wear of the anterior teeth affects the aesthetics of your smile. They are truly a remarkable restoration when they are the treatment of choice and are the most aesthetic means of creating a more pleasing and beautiful smile.

For strength and appearance, porcelain veneers are unsurpassed by other restorative options.

Veneers can fulfill all the aesthetic goals for:
  • Closing spaces between the teeth
  • Broken or chipped teeth
  • Stained or washed out fillings
  • Permanently stained or discolored teeth
  • Misshapen or crooked teeth
  • Whiten dark, yellow or stained teeth
THE PROCESS

At the first visit the tooth (teeth) are reduced by approximately 0.5 mm-2.0 mm. An impression of the teeth is taken and sent to our design lab for the fabrication of the veneers. Depending on the amount of reduction necessary, a temporary veneer may be placed.

At the second visit and after the teeth have been thoroughly cleaned and prepared, the permanent veneers are placed with a resin material and cured, or hardened with a special curing light. When the actual veneer is placed the fit and color is evaluated and adjustments can be made.

After bonded to the teeth, the ultra-thin porcelain veneers are virtually undetectable and highly resistant to staining. In addition to resisting stain, they reflect light and are among the strongest and most natural looking restoration available.
